State of Cybersecurity 2020 reports the results of the annual ISACA® global State of Cybersecurity Survey,
conducted in the fourth quarter of 2019. This Part 2 survey report
focuses on the threat landscape, the measures security professionals
employ to keep their enterprises safe, and key trends and themes in the
practice of security.
This year’s data confirms trends from prior years. It also examines
data from some new survey questions about key areas, like the use of
AI-enabled security tools. Some survey findings, such as the continued
increase of cyberattacks, are less surprising, although still
noteworthy to track and monitor. Other findings, like performance
impacts from organizational structure or hiring difficulties, provide
new insights—for example, a correlation between organization/staffing
and security outcomes (although long suspected) is observed in the
survey data.
