nCircle 2010 Information Security and Compliance Trend Study

nCircle, the leading provider of automated security and compliance auditing solutions, today announced the results of the nCircle 2010 Information Security and Compliance Trend Study. The results are based on a survey of over 250 respondents in the IT Security industry in the United States and Canada, including senior management, IT operations, security professionals, and risk and audit managers.

Highlights of this study include:
  • - Single largest security concern for 2010 is meeting security compliance requirements.

  • - 74% of respondents don't believe the cost savings of cloud computing outweigh the security considerations for their organization.

  • - Over 66% of respondents believe their executives are more aware of organizations security risks than they were 12 months ago.

The survey was conducted between February 4 and March 12, 2010, and covered a range of security topics including smartphones, healthcare, social media, cloud computing, risk and compliance, audit costs and preparation, and public and private sector security practices.
